Made a substantial drop off at the local donation center today. Several boxes of books, comics, clothing, and a few other miscellaneous items that no longer bring value. The books were read, but I will never read them again. Not to say they weren’t engaging or informative but they were not life changing and not something I will go back to read again.

The comics were from a short phase where I was consuming as much reading material as I could. Hopefully they will be appreciated by someone else, but I did not find them engaging or entertaining.

I go through cycles in my life where I will collect certain items. Books at times, comics at another, coins for a bit, and trading cards here and there. I will try to make an effort to not fall back into any of these cycles and realize that none of it brought me happiness or contentment. What I have found from collecting is that there is no end. There will always be that one item you are chasing, a company will release another item in the series, and if you happen to complete your collection…..then that will only bring a finality which leaves you feeling at a loss.
