Weighted Down~

I found it on the bottom shelf in the closet last weekend. It is a heavy weighted blanket that was used perhaps once or twice. It is in perfect clean condition and likely had cost somewhere over $30 when bought new. I did not want to throw it away but I know the donation center doesn’t accept blankets or bedding items. Throwing it away would be a complete waste of a durable heavy blanket not to mention a negative impact on the environment. Fortunately I had found a Buy Nothing group on Facebook recently and joined it in the event something like this came up. After posting it, I was quickly messaged by a few interested people and have found the blanket a new home. Though it didn’t have a value in my life, it will certainly be valued by someone. Our things were purchased to fill a need, perform a service, and to find value in our life but it doesn’t always work out that way and we might discover we are not compatible with them and that’s okay. But try to find someone who may value it, who may need it, who may not have the resources to acquire it. Throwing away is an easy way to let go, but unless it is not functional or damaged beyond repair, try to find someone who may appreciate what you have to offer.
