Not a bad end to the week, a fine day at work and had a good evening at home being able to accomplish a few things that were needed to be done. I have everything eliminated from my satchel now, only the MacBook remains and I plan on just carrying that with me to work now, the bag will be necessary. I have been making some progress in reducing some of the redundant items in my life. Using digital tools instead of physical ones and finding areas where I can make improvements and reduce items that I own. I had purchased an older Gillette safety razor today, made of nickel plated brass and dating from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s and still in impeccable condition. Razors like these were manufactured to last a lifetime and then some. I plan on utilizing it for the remainder of my life and it will likely still be useful after I’m gone, as long as I clean and maintain it. They do give you a better shave with less irritation than the cartridge versions and it will also help in reducing the waste I generate with the disposable cartridges and handles, which aren’t recyclable due to their mixed material content. At least with the blades of the safety razor I will be able to recycle them as they are made completely of metal. I’m trying to make little improvements daily and making better decisions which should bring me some peace of mind that I am doing the right thing.
